Joanna is making a name for helself as a dramatic mezzo: in the last two years she has perform the rôles of  Fricka (Das Rheingold & Die Walküre); Klytemnestra (Elektra) and Ulrica (Un Ballo In  Maschera).  Amongst others she has worked as a principal for Welsh National Opera  covering Dame Quickly, Filipyevna and Countess (Queen of Spades); Opera North covering Auntie; Scottish Opera covering Dame Quickly (one performance) and Grange Park Opera as Marcellina.

Joanna is an experienced oratorio soloist: repertoire includes Verdi Requiem; Dvorak Stabat Mater; Mendelssohn Elijah; Rossini Petite Messe Sollennelle; Tippett A Child Of Our Time; Bach Passions and Christmas Oratorio; Handel Messiah, Jeptha, Judas Maccabaeus, Israel in Egypt, Samson, Semele. 

Joanna gives recitals with pianist Kathryn Mosley, often as part of Ensemble Morfeo with other instrumentalists.
