Bio


Joachim Gustafsson is one of the leading Scandinavian conductors in his generation. He works regularly with the major orchestras in Sweden and Denmark and has a close relationship with both The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and The Malmö Symphony Orchestra. He is regular guest conductor with Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogota where he has made tremendous success with his interpretations of the Austro-German repertoire. He is also a great champion for the contemporary Nordic repertoire with countless premieres of symphonic and operatic works.

Joachim Gustafsson made his operatic debut at The Swedish Royal Opera with Verdi Otello in 2004.

Joachim Gustafsson's premiere of The Portrait of Dorian Gray by Thomas Agerfeldt Olesen at The Danish National Opera was nominated for The Reumert Award and his latest CD is nominated for a Swedish Grammy.
