Bio

TENOR JIHAN SHIN Born in Sunchang South Korea in 1980 , Jihan Shin graduated in Vocal Music from Yonsei University. In Seoul. In 2007, he enrolled in the two-year specialization course at the Licino Refice Conservatory of frosinone. He debuted in the role of Federico in Mascagni&rsquos L’amico Friz at the Seoul Art Center Opera Festival. Other roles ha has performed include, Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Boheme, Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata. he sang also in G. F. Handel’s messiah. and creation. He also participated in numerous concerts in Seoul, Rome, Madrid, Athens, Munich, Luxembourg, and Paris. He won first prize (2008) in “Dae-Gu” in Korea and first prize in the 27th edition of the ”Giacomo Lauri Volpi” International Competition(2008) and first prize in the 14th edition of the “Rolando Nicolosi” International Competition(2009) between 2009 and 2011 he studied at the Teatro alla Scala Academy of Lyric Opera. He played Conte Alberto in Rossini’s L’occasione Fa il Ladro, conducted by Daniele Rustioni for Academy project 2010, on stage at Scala Jean-Pierre Ponnelle setting. He played Tamino in mozart’s “The Magic Flute” at Elfo Puccini teatro in Milan(2012,2013).
