Jesús Naveira is currently the newly appointed conductor of the Musical Theatre of the Republic of Karelia. He is also the Founding Conductor and Artistic Director of the Sorolla Symphony Orchestra, as well as Guest Conductor of the Karelian State Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2016, Naveira graduated with distinction from the Saint Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, studying with Anatoly Rybalko. He has taken part in master-classes with notable conductors such as Alexander Polyanichko, Colin Metters, Vladislav Chernushenko, Peter Stark and Vassily Sinaisky.
As a finalist in the Matačić International Competition of Young Conductors in Croatia, Naveira had the opportunity to work with the Zagreb Philharmonic and Croatian Chamber Orchestra. He has also conducted the Saint Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, State Hermitage Orchestra, Crimean Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Horn Orchestra of Russia, Chamber Orchestra of Samara, Saint Petersburg Youth Symphony Orchestra, Astrakhan Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and Zazerkalie Theatre Symphony Orchestra. He has performed alongside international soloists such as Denis Kozhukhin, Soyoung Yoon, Ana María Valderrama, Mikhail Pochekin and Sofja Gülbadamova.

In Saint Petersburg, Naveira is in high demand as a conductor of new music. He often collaborates with the famous Composition Department of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, whose faculty included Shostakovich and Rimsky-Korsakov, which is currently headed by Sergei Slonimsky. Naveira gave world premieres of works such as the ballet Seeing off the Mermaids (2013) by Anzhelika Gabiboba at the Glazunov Concert Hall and Fragments Suite for Orchestra and Chorus (2015) by Evgeny Grigorovich at the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Hall.

With respect to operas, Naveira has conducted Tchaikovsky´s Iolant on several occasions, including at the Great Hall of the Conservatory and at the St. Petersburg Music Hall Theatre. Naveira has also bee involved in productions of Tchaikovsky´s Eugene Onegin and Mozart´s Così fan tutte.

In April 2017, Jesús gave a successful performance of Verdi’s La Traviata at the Musical Theatre of the Republic of Karelia in Petrozavodsk, resulting in being appointed as their new conductor for the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons, with repertoire including:
Carmen, The Magic Flute, Eugene Onegin, Iolanta, The Queen of Spades, The Barber of Seville, La Traviata, Madama Butterfly and Il trovatore. Ballet: Anna Karenina, The Hunchbacked Horse, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Giselle, The Corsair, The Nutcracker, The Swan Lake, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Don Quixote, Fokine Gala. Operettas: The Gipsy Princess, The bat and The beautiful Galatea.
