Bio


A native of Hong Kong, Jessie relocated to London in 2012 and trained with Amanda Roocroft and Adrian Thompson. She completed her Master of Music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and gained her Master in Opera at Conservatori Liceu, Barcelona.

In 2016, Jessie was a Britten-Pears Young Artist and a iSing! Suzhou Young Artist. She has also been named as a Concordia Artist for the 2015-2016 season. She sang in Masterclasses with Thomas Allen, Dame Ann Murray, Roger Vignoles, Barbara Frittoli and Mariella Devia.

As an award winning artist, Jessie was awarded the 1st Prize, Gitanilla Prize and Leoncavallo Prize in 2016 Antonio Bertolini Competition. In the same year, she received the 3rd Prize in the Coop Music Award Grand Finale in Milan, Italy, as well as the 3rd Prize from 2016 Yokohama International Music Competition in Japan.

Operatic appearances include Konstanze(The Abduction of Serail) with Patras Municipal and Regional Theatre (Greece), Queen of the Night The Magic Flute with Porcupine Productions (UK), Lyric Opera Studio Weimar (Germany) and Conservatori Liceu, Anna Reich The Merry Wives of Windsor with Theatre Rudolstadt, title role in Alcina with New London Opera Players

and Corilla in Viva la Mamma with Jerusalem Vocal Arts Festival. She has also performed as Gilda Rigoletto,Adina L’Elisir d’Amore, Adele Die
Fledermaus, Ariel The Tempest and Héro Béatrice et Benedict, Nanetta Falstaff and Oscar Un Ballo in Mascherain opera scenes. She performed Herculanum, Maria di Rudenz and Riders to the Seawith Wexford Festival Opera Chorus, as well as Sopranoin Membra Jesu Nostri in Fall 2016. She has given concerts and recitals in venue such as Teatro Dal Verme

(Milan), Auditorium Gaber Pirelli (Milan) and Leoncavallo Museum (Brissago).

Jessie also has a strong interest in contemporary opera. In August 2018 she played the role of Susie with Mosaic Production in Between Constellations by Ruth Chan and performed the Red Seed written by Sayan Kent. In the 2018-19 season, She will also be working with C5 Projects on Beauty and Sadness by Elena Langer (libretto by David Pountney) on the role of Second Geisha in their upcoming premiere in Hong Kong.
