Award-winning opera singer, Jessica Eccleston is a young and exciting performer who has been appointed as the Resident Solo Lyric Mezzo Soprano at the Landestheater in Linz, Austria. She was awarded a choral scholarship to read Music at St Catharine's College, Cambridge where she recorded, toured and broadcasted internationally with various groups.

After studying at The Royal Northern College of Music for her Masters, where she was the holder of The Annie Ridyard Scholarship, she was then awarded an entrance scholarship to study on The Alexander Gibson Opera School at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She then went on to work with Opera Holland Park singing the role of "Ancella" in "L'amore dei tre Re" to great acclaim and was invited to be a Young Artist for the Live Music Now Scotland Scheme with her group "Aleatoric Junction". Last season she made her solo international debut singing the roles of "Maddalena" in Rigoletto, "Hansel" in Hansel und Gretel, "Marguerite" in La Damnation de Faust and "Olga" in Eugene Onegin. After her first season at the Landestheater, she was awarded the Landestheater Linz's Richard Tauber "Jugendensemble Preis" for her excellence in singing and as a young performer of great promise.
She has a passion for contemporary music, having performed works by Judith Wier and her own compositions. She also sings internationally as an oratorio soloist, on the concert platform and as a recitalist at venues such as: Cadogan Hall, Usher Hall, Edinburgh, St Martin in the Field's, Bridgewater Hall and many others.
This season she will sing the lead role of "Die Frau" in the world premiere of Christian Diendorfer's "Die Wand", "Sesto" in "La Clemenza di Tito", "Second Maid" in "Elektra" and "Neris" in "Medee".
