«Her place was taken at short notice by Jenavieve Moore...performing in the Barbican Hall... there was no sign of (nerves) in her confident, composed demeanour or in her rendition. She sang most beautifully, especially in ‘Libera me’, the concluding movement of the Requiem...»

Described as “an artist of extraordinary talent”, soprano Jenavieve Moore has a “silvery voice of great flexibility, precision, and beauty” and is internationally renowned for her Mozart and Strauss interpretations.

The young Canadian began gaining attention in London when she stepped in at the last minute to sing Verdi’s Requiem in the Barbican Centre, for the opening concert of the 2014/2015 season.
Equally at home on the opera and concert stage, Jenavieve has performed across North America, Europe, and China, with operatic role and scene credits including Judith Wier’s one-woman opera King Harald’s Saga, Wolf-Ferrari’s Le Donne Curiose (Rosaura), Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia (Female Chours), Birtwistle’s Yan Tan Tethera (Hannah), Bizet’s Carmen (Micaëla), Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress (Ann Trulove), Massenet’s Manon (Manon), Mozart’s Don Giovanni (Donna Anna) Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (Countessa), and Rossini’s Le comte Ory (Comtesse Adèle).
Recent Oratorio appearances include Bach’s Johannes Passion and Weihnachtsoratorium, Mozart’s Requiem, Mass in C Minor and Exsultate Jubilate, Haydn’s Paukenmesse and Lord Nelson Mass, Verdi’s Requiem, and Rossini’s Stabat Mater.
She is regularly featured on BBC Radio 3 in connection with their New Music Immersion concerts.  Other recent performances include an appearance in the Budapest Liszt Academy and the Royal Opera House performing European Premiers of three chamber operas, and her debut last March at Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Brett Dean’s Wolf Lieder.
Jenavieve completed her education at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (Opera Course and Masters) with Yvonne Kenny, and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto with Helga Tucker.  She has worked in masterclasses with Thomas Hampson and Barbara Bonney in the Heidelberger ‘Frühling Fest’, and also with Eugene Asti, Roger Vignoles, and Sarah Walker.    During her studies she received awards and won competition prizes including a jury prize at the Pustina International Vocal Competition, the Guildhall Aria Prize, First

Prize at the Dean & Chadlington Festival Competition, the Belle Shankman Award for the Arts from the Canadian Embassy, and a Drake Calleja Foundation award.  She now resides in Munich.
