Jelena Kordić, born in Zagreb (1986) and graduated at The University of Zagreb  Music Academy in prof Martina Zadro´s class (2012). Apart from her academic education,  she studied under the guidance of  Ruža Posiš Baldani , a famous Croatian mezzosoprano, Vitomir Marof and Roman Sadnik .  Also, she attended a masterclass held by mezzosoprano Fiorenza Cossotto.  During her studies she had performed at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb as a soloist in Schubert's Mass in E-flat major, Haydn's Missa in Angustiis, Mozart's The Magic Flute and Prokofiev's Ivan the Terrible. At the Dubrovnik Summer Festival Jelena performed in Händel's Acis and Galatea accompanied by The Croatian Baroque Orchestra conducted by Phillip Picket. With that plotted maestro she sang that same opera at Newcastle, England and Paris, France.  In The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb she debuted as The third lady in Mozart's The Magic Flute(2010).  She continued performing  as Maddalena in Verdi's Rigoletto and as Mercedes in Bizet's Carmen.  In November (2011), Jelena graduated as Bizet's Carmen in common project of Academies of Drama, Music and Art. After graduation, new rolls followed. Pastuchyna in Janaček's Jenufa, Lola in Pietro Mascagni´s Cavalleria Rusticana, Mintje, Piet´s wife, in a Croatian opera Der Schuster von Delft written by Blagoje Bersa, Meg Page in Verdi's Falstaff, Hänsel in Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel and Adalgisa in Bellini's Norma. In Croatian National Theatre Rijeka she sang main female role Bolgana, and it was a world premiere Marco Polo , modern opera of italian composer D.Zanettovich. After that follows Fenena in Verdi's Nabuco. With Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra she sang Stabat mater of Dvorak and Verdi's Requiem. Opening season (2014/15)  in Croatian National Theatre Zagreb began with a concert version of Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier in which Jelena sang Octavian. First premiere in Zagreb began with Tchaikovsky's Evgeny Onegin and she was singing Olga. For the same theatre she is now preparing Blumenmädchen from Wagner's Parsifal. Jelena has collaborated with a conducters such as Antonello Allemandi, Mihajl Sinkjevich, Srboljub Dinic, Phillip Picket, Niksa Bareza, Uros Lajovic, Ivan Repusic.
