Bio

The 30-year-old singer Jaquelina Livieri was born in the city of Rosario, Argentina. She began her career in music in 1997, when she started taking piano lessons at the Provincial Music School and at the National Humanities and Arts University. She has recently finished her studies at Colon Theatre Art College, Lucía Boero being her vocal technique tutor and Susana Frangi and Horacio Castillo being her repertoire tutors. In 2012, she was invited to take part in NEUE STIMMEN’s 9th International Master Class conducted by Gustav Kuhn, Francisco Araiza, John Norris and Edda Mosser.
Atthe age of 16, she made her operatic debut in the role of A page in Rigoletto by G. Verdi, at El Círculo theatre in Rosario. In 2007, also at ‘El Círculo’, she played the role of Frasquita from the opera Carmen by Bizet, under the baton of Maestro Mario Perusso. In 2008, she performed the role of Adina in L’elisir D’amore by G. Donizetti at Roma Theatre, in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires. In the same year, she sang in Arthur Honegger’s oratorio King David, conducted by Maestro Nicolas Rauss. In 2009, she sang in La Bachiana Brasilera N°5 by Villa-Lobos and she also interpreted the role of Giulietta from La Schiava Liberata, by Jommelli, under the baton of Maestro D’Astoli. In 2010, she played the role of Pamina from The Magic Flute by Mozart, conducted by Maestro Nicolas Rauss. In 2011, she appeared in The Magic Flute again, but this time in the role of Papagena, conducted by Maestro Chaslin at Colon Theatre. In the same year, she performed as one of the novices in Suor Angelica by Puccini, at Colon Theatre. At Province of Salta Theatre, and at Altos Hornos Zapla Theatre, in Jujuy, she played the role of Pamina under the baton of Maestro Lhez. In 2012, she took the roles of Oscar from Un Ballo in Maschera – conducted by Maestro Rauss at El Círculo Theatre – and of Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro – conducted by Maestro Lhez at Province of Salta Theatre, Altos Hornos Zapla Theatre and at the National Theatre in Lima, Peru. She also sang Carmina Burana by Orff, conducted by Maestro Ciraolo. In 2013, she performed as Adina from L’elisir D’amore at El Círculo Theatre, conducted by Maestro Callejas. She also interpreted Mahler’s Symphony N°2 at  Province of Salta Theatre; Barbarina from Le Nozze di Figaro, under the baton of Maestro Roberto Paternostro; and one of the Blessed in Bebe Dom, conducted by Mario Perusso at Colon Theatre. In 2014, she played the roles of Norina in Don Pasquale at El Círculo Theatre; Gilda in Rigoletto, conducted by Antonio Russo at Avenida Theatre, in Buenos Aires; Musetta in La Boheme, under the baton of Maestro Stefan Lano at SODRE National Auditorium; Nannetta in Falstaff, under the baton of Maestro Roberto Paternostro at Colon Theatre and Micaela in Carmen under the baton of Maestro Stefan Lano at SODRE National Auditorium. In 2015, she played the roles of Sophie in Werther, under the baton of the Maestro Ira Levin at Colon Theatre; Giannetta in L’elisir D’amore, under the baton of the Maestro Ivan Ciampa and Violetta in La Traviata, under the baton of the Maestro Marcelo Pozo at the El Círculo Theatre; Sophie in Werther, under the baton of the Maestro Laurant Campellone at Cafam de Bellas Artes Theatre; Adina in L’elisir Damore, under the baton of the Maestro Martin Jorge at Solis Theatre; Pamina in Die Zauberflöte under the baton of the Maestro Hadrian Avila Arzuza at Libertador San Martin Theatre; Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor under the baton of the Maestro Silvio Viegas at Palacio das Artes Theatre.
In 2010, she gave a concert for the Iberian and Latin American Music Society (ILAMS) in the UK. She also gave a Master Class at Santander University, at Altamira School and at the Santander School of Music, in Spain. She has recently been honoured with the Argentinian Music Critics Association Stimulus Prize. In 2007, she won the “IX° concurso para jóvenes estudiantes de canto lírico”  (9th Young-Lyric-Singing -Students Contest) second prize, given by La Scala de San Telmo; the third prize for “Primer Concurso de interpretación de la canción de cámara argentina” (1st Argentinian Chamber Song Interpretation Contest), organized by Argentmusica Foundation; and the Encuentros Foundation Prize for being the best contemporary Argentinian music interpreter. In 2008, she won the singing contest “Mabel Veleris”, organized by the Julio Bocca Foundation. She was also one of the finalists at the Concurso Nacional de Ópera “La Boheme” (National Opera Contest “La Boheme”) organized by “Opera de San Juan” and she received a special mention for her promising work at Colon Theatre Contest “Jóvenes Cantantes” (Young singers). In 2009, she got the “X° Concurso Bienal Juvenil 2009-2010” (10th Biennial Youth Contest 2009-2010) first prize, and the “XIII Concurso y Festival Internacional de Canto Lírico. Premio Ciudad de Trujillo” (13th Lyric Singing International Contest and Festival. Trujillo City Prize) second prize. In 2010, she was one of the semi-finalists at the Hans Gabor Belvedere Contest (Vienna, Austria), and one of the finalists at the Adamis Iris Corradetti Contest (Padova, Italy). In 2011, she got the 1st prize at “1er Concurso Internacional de Música vocal de Cámara de Bahia Blanca” (1st International Chamber Vocal Music Contest) and she was a semi-finalist at the Neue Stimmen Contest 2011. In 2012, she received the “Primer Festival Internacional de Canto Lírico ‘Laguna Mágica’2011” (1st International Lyric Singing Contest ‘Laguna Mágica’2011) 1st prize and the “Concurso Internacional de Canto del Teatro Colón” (Colon Theatre International Singing Contest) 3rd prize. In 2013, she got the 1st prize at the “II Concurso Nacional de Canto Lírico ‘Enrique R. Francovigh’” (2nd National Lyric Singing Contest ‘Enrique R. Francovigh’). In 2015, she got the 2nd Prize at the Competizione Dell’Opera.
