Ivan Momirov made his debut only twenty one years old on the stage of Deutsche Oper – Berlin in the role of Vladimir from the opera Prince Igor. The same year, Ghena Dimitrova invited him to take part in her tribute – the gala performances of Nabucco on the stage of Sofia National Opera. Soon after, he performed at the Musikverein Golden Hall – Vienna side by side with Nicolai Ghiaurov. Next came the special prize of Jose Carreras from the Julian Gayarre Competition – Pamplona, Spain. His debut on the stage of the Opera of Monte Carlo (2000) in the role of Des Grieux (Manon by Massenet) opened his way to the world leading opera theatre such as “Royal Opera House Covent Garden” – London, “Teatro Dell’Opera” – Rome, “Teatro Carlo Felice” – Genoa, “Teatro San Carlo” – Lisbon, the Mariinsky Theatre – Saint Petersburg. Mr. Momirov has partnered some of the greatest opera stars of our time - Katia Ricciarelli, Maria Guleghina, Mariella Devia, Leo Nucci, Renato Bruson, Nicola Ghiuselev, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Roberto Scandiuzzi etc. Mr. Momirov has sung under the baton of a number of famous conductors such as Bruno Bartoletti, Michel Plasson, Nello Santi, Valery Gergiev, Michail Jurowski, Gian Luigi Gelmetti, Günter Neuhold, Marc Minkowsky, Renato Palumbo, Daniele Gallegari, Yves Abel etc. Mr. Momirov has worked with remarkable directors such as Andrej Kontchalovsky, Werner Herzog, Pierluigi Pizzi, Ermano Olmi, Alberto Fassini, Nicolas Joel, etc. Mr. Momirov’s recording work includes Verdi’s Jerusalem (Genoa, 2000, for RAI Italian Television) and Verdi’s Requiem (1999, Bremen).
