Ingo Arnason graduated as a director from the Italian Theater Academy Accademia Nazionale D’Arte Drammatica  “Silvio D’Amico” in Rome 1999.
He has since 2002 been working as a director mainly focusing on opera.
Ingo Arnason is (since 2012) the General & Artistic director of the Nordic Artists Resident House Circolo Scandinavo in Rome, Italy.
Graduated from the Italian state theatre school Accademia Nazionale D’Arte Drammatica “Silvio D’Amico” in Rome 1999. After his graduation he worked as an assistant in La Boheme at Teatro Dell'Opera di Roma and in l'Italiana in Algeri at Teatro Massimo in Palermo. 
Since 2002 he has been one of the main directors at the Icelandic Opera with the debut of Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Following with Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Haydn’s Lo Speciale, Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi, Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and semi-staged Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri and Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.

He also founded and directed the Education department at the Icelandic Opera from 2005 to 2007.
He was a member of the board of FLÍ The Icelandic Association of Stage, Film and TV directors for 4 years, there of two as a Chairman and General director.
Ingo N Arnason has also directed three radio dramas and one radio detective-series at RÚV – The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service. in 2006 his direction of "Unmarked opus in C-moll" was nominated for Gríman, The Icelandic theatre award for best radio drama. 
between 2001 ' 2011 he was the director of the theatre group MAS which is a theatre group of actors with learning dissabilities.
He founded the theatre group "La Corte in Viaggio" and produced and directed the Italian premiere of the Norwegian theatreplay for children, Karius and Baktus by T. Egner.
He directed and produced a new Icelandic opera from the novel HEL by Sigurð Nordal, music by S. Sævarsson. It premiered 2009 in colaboration with The Reykjavik Arts Festival, The Icelandic opera and Caput ensamble sinfonietta.
Ingo N Arnason is one of the co-founder and on the artistic board of the newly established Icelandic Peoples Opera "Alþýðuóperan".
