Haydn)                                     Conductor: Andreas Spering   In Season 2015/2016 Ines will sing the roles Elmira (Sosarme), Wendy (Peter Pan), Waldvogel (Siegfried),  Gerhilde (Walküre), Woglinde (Rheingold/Götterdämmerung) and Flavia (Lucio Cornelio Silla).     Vita Ines Lex – Soprano Ines Lex was born in Germany.  She studied at the Hochschule für Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart with Prof. Ulrike Sonntag und Prof. Thomas Pfeiffer where she graduated with distinction receiving highest marks at her graduating recital. Subsequently she studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Elizabeth Ritchie. There she won the Elena Gerhardt Lieder Prize, the Blyth-Buesst Operatic Prize and the John Ireland Song Competition. Ines Lex was a recipient of the advancement award of the Stiftung für Kultur, Natur und Heimatpflege der Kreissparkasse Waiblingen, as well as a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Verband. After completing her studies Ines Lex was engaged by the Landestheater Innsbruck until the end of the 2009/2010 season.  Her roles there, amongst others, included Marie (Zar und Zimmermann), Eliza (My Fair Lady) and Zdenka (Arabella). Attending master classes held by Christine Schäfer, Klesie Kelly-Moog, Edith Wiens and Ingrid Figur she received important stimulus.  Currently she is continuing her artistic development with Mariette Witteveen. Ines Lex can be seen regularly at the Händel-Festspiele in Halle.  There she debuted as Teofane (Ottone, Re di Germania), Morgana (Alcina) and in the title-role of Almira, Königen von Kastilien.  She appears (2015-2016) as Flavia in the rediscovered opera Lucio Cornelio Silla under the musical direction of Enrico Onofri in Stephen Lawless’ production. In the co-production between the Oper Halle and the Theater im Pfalzbau, Ludwigshafen she sang the roles of Woglinde (Rheingold/Götterdämmerung), Gerhilde (Walküre) and Waldvogel (Siegfried). Guest appearances have taken the soprano to the Staatstheater Nürnberg as Gerhilde and to the Nationaltheater in Weimar and the Staatstheater Darmstadt as Woglinde.  At the Schlossfestspielen Ludwigsburg she was Elmire (Erwin und Elmire) and in 2014 she sang with great success at the Schlosskonzerten in Brühl the role of Vespina in Joseph Haydn’s L’Infedeltà delusa under the direction of Andreas Spering.  With the festival ensemble of the Inernationale Bachakademie under Helmuth Rilling she sang Bach’s B Minor Mass in the Liederhalle in Stuttgart, the Philharmonien in Berlin and Essen as well as at St. Thomas Church Leipzig. In addition to the aforementioned, she has worked with such conductors as Wolfgang Katschner, Marcus Creed, Bernhard Forck, Joep Caballé-Domenech, Karlheinz Steffens, Christoph Poppen, Georg Fritzsch, Cornelius Meister, Sir Roger Norrington, Kay Johannsen and with the stage directors Florian Lutz, Axel Köhler, Andrej Woron, Christian Schuller, Hansgünther Heyme, Brigitte Fassbaender, Volker Vogel and Franziska Severin. Ines Lex began an engagement as soloist at the Oper Halle in the season 2010/2011.  She sang in such various roles as Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Musetta (La Bohème) Rodisette (Der Geduldige Sokrates), Wendy (Peter Pan), Dunyazade in the rediscovered opera Schahrazade by Bernhard Sekles, Anna (Nabucco), Maria (West Side Story) made  her debut as Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) and as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte).  Most recently she appeared as Aphrodite in stage director Florian Lutz’  well received production of Hans Werner Henze’s  Phaedra conducted by Robbert van Steijn. Since the beginning of the season 2015/2016 Ines Lex is a freelance artist.  She will however continue to appear as a guest artist at the opera house in Halle.
