Special Prize at Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo of The Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Spain, with role Sophie in Werther, J. Massenet assignment for the next Season 16/17 and finalist at Operalia International Competition 2016, Guadalajara, Mexico; Helena Orcoyen is emerging as one the most promising young Spanish voices.







Recently, Helena Orcoyen, has debuted -with excellent reviews- as Queen of the Night at the Coruña Opera and the Sinfónica de Galicia,under the baton of maestro Josep Pons; as Adina in L’elisir 
 d´amore at Gijon´s International Opera Studio IOS. Helena’s exponential career takes off in May 2011 with her debut at the Kursaal Auditorium of San Sebastian as Marina in Marina, Emilio Arrieta’s opera. Since then, she has sang in some of the most important theatres in Europe.

During the 2013/2014 season, she debuted as Wagner’s Erste Blumenmädchen (Parfisal) in Bologne’s Teatro Comunale under the direction of Roberto Abbado and scene manager Romeo Castellucci and as Adina in Donizzetti’s L´elisir d´amore in Orvieto’s Mancinelli Theatre Orvieto under the direction of Vittorio Parisi and the scene manager Gabriella Ravazzi.
Helena Orcoyen has toured as winner of Jeunesses Musicales Spain, singing with the Radio Television Orchestra of Spain at Teatro Monumental with Maestro Fran Paul Decker and at the Teatro Arriaga and with maestro Günter Neuhold, and Iker Sánchez Silva at Palacio Euskalduna of Bilbao. Together with Alfredo Kraus Association, Helena has sang at the Music Palace of Valencia and in prestigious festivals, such as the Quincena Musical of San Sebastian and the International Festival of Music and Dance of Granada.

Orcoyen has also appeared in concerts abroad, including an outdoor concert in the Suwon Arts Center of Suwon (South Corea) together with the Mostly Philharmonic Orchestra, sharing the stage with renowned artists as Franco Giovine and Pietro Ballo.

Born in 1986 in Tolosa, Helena Orcoyen studied vocal performance at the Basque Country Conservatory (Musikene) graduating with honors. She began her vocal training with the soprano Inmaculada Martínez, and has since improved her technique with Nancy Argenta, Carlos Chausson, Raina Kawaivanska, Giulio Zappa, Isabel Rey, Ana Luisa Chova, Anna Vandi, María Bayo, Iride Martínez, Rubén Fernández, Alejandro Zabala, Enrique Ricci and Vincenzo Scallera. During 2012 she participed in Renata Scotto´s Opera Studio at Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome.
