Bio

Fredrik de Jounge started hid education at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm by Mrs. Lilian Gentele. He continued at the Royal College of Opera and in Vienna, New York and he has also studied with Prof. Rudolf Knoll in Salzburg and with the Swedish tenor Nicolai Gedda. 1993 was the debut at the Royal Opera Stockholm as young servant in 'Elektra' by R. Strauss . By the Folkoperan in Stockholm was Fredrik de Jounge engaged 1993-94 in Pang 'Turandot' by Puccini and King Polybos in 'Oidipus'. 1994-95 he was engaged at the Operastudio at the Finish National Opera in Helsinki. March 1995 he came back to the Royal Opera for a production of 'Parsifal' as knappe in Regi von Götz Friedrich and Gösta Winbergh in the titelrole. In summer 1995 he was engaged at Salzburg Festival in 'Der Schuhu und der Fliegende Prinzessin' by Zimmermann. Other engagements was in Leipzig Opera (Der Schuhu..) and Don Ramiro in 'La Cenerentola' by Rossini, which he performed at the Rimskij-Korsakow Theater in St. Petersburg and Savonlinna. At the Stadttheater Biel in Switzerland he made his first Graf Almaviva in 'Il Barbiere di Siviglia' 1996 and then 1997 he made the first premiere of the 'Pilot von Hirochima' by Sibert at the Opera Stabile in Hamburg. Summer 1997 he made his first Steurmann in 'Der Fliegende Holländer' at the Halle 39 in Hildesheim and that took him to a 2 years contract with Stadttheater Hildesheim. From the season 1999-2002 has Fredrik de Jounge a contract with Staatstheater Oldenburg. Back in Sweden he sang at the Folkopera "Arthuro" in Lucia di Lammermore and at the Norrlandsoperan he sang Almaviva in Il Barbier di Sevilla. Fredrik de Jounge has also been giving concerts and recitals in USA, Canada, Portugal, Russia, Germany, Italy, Finland, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden.
