Francesca Lanza began studying flute at a young age and received her degree at Alessandria&rsquos “Vivaldi” Conservatory. She then followed numerous masterclasses with such flautists as Conrad Klemm (Summer courses in Castelsardo), Peter-Lukas Graf (Biella’s International Academy), and Raymond Guiot, who saw her obtaining first prize upon completion of the three-year Flute Italian Academy in Rome. She was a member of the Orchestra of Spoleto’s Teatro Lirico Sperimentale “A. Belli” for three years, then being nominated as Tutor at the Orchestral Qualifying Courses held by the same institution. She studied singing with Aida Claretto Prestia graduating at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Torino. In 2000 she was one of the winners at the “Giulietta Simionato International Singing Competition” in Asti. She has attended the masterclasses held by Shirley Verrett at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena (receiving a merit diploma and a scholarship), and by Elly Ameling at the Amici della Musica in Florence. She’s also studied with Renata Scotto both privately and at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, performing with her F. Schubert’s G Mass.She studied repertoire with Luca Gorla at the International Academy of music in Milan, and with Adelisa Tabiadon, obtaining her 2nd degree at Piacenza’s Conservatory. Francesca made her debut in Verdi’s Rigoletto at Modena’s Teatro Comunale (then in Ferrara, Reggio Emilia and Busseto). She was Elisetta in Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto at the “Belcanto Festival” in Dordrecht (Netherlands), as well as Elena in Rota’s Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze in Pisa, Lucca, Livorno, Ravenna and Mantova. She sang the title-role in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor at the Festival International de Tamaulipas (Mexico). She was Donna Anna in the first modern revival of Il Convitato di Pietra by V.Righini (recorded by Bongiovanni) , the Queen of the night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Semperoper in Dresden, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Lübeck, Schwerin, Piccolo Regio in Turin and Palermo’s Teatro Massimo. She sang Konstanze in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Opéra-Theâtre in St. Etienne. She sang inL’Amor Mugnaio by G.Nicolini at the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, and in Il Colore di Cenerentola, a contemporary opera by A. Cara at the Piccolo Regio in Turin and at Bologna’s Teatro Comunale. She sang in F.Cavalli’s La Didone at La Scala in Milan with the Europa Galante ensemble conducted by Fabio Biondi.
