The Kosovarian mezzo-soprano Flaka Goranci living currently in Vienna set out studying piano, before changing her major to singing. She obtained her bachelor’s degree at the Music Academy of Tirana, Albania, with prof. Suzana Frasheri. Master studies followed at Buchmann-Mehta-School of Music with Prof. Tamar Rachum in Tel Aviv, Israel. Only 22 years old she debuted with the role of Rosina in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, at the Albanian State Opera in Tirana, Albania.In Austria, Israel and Albania she appeared in roles including Cherubino and Contessa in “Le nozze di Figaro”, Dorabella in “Cosi fan tutte”, Dido in “Dido and Aeneas”, Ida in “Gemma di Vergy” and Die Mutter in “Der Jasager”, K.Weill. Flaka has worked under distinguished conductors including Nicolaus Harnoncourt, Erwin Ortner, Enrico Delamboye, Pawel Poplawski, Manfred Mayrhofer, Vittorio Parisi, Ze’ev Dorman, Yishai Steckler, Zhani Ciko, Leonardo Quadrini, Xu Yi-An, Aleksander Lekovski-Lekaj etc…With opera directors such Uwe Eric Laufenberg, Stephen Lawless, Carlos Wagner, Niv Hoffman, Dani Ehrlich, Nikolin Gurakuqi and Michal Grover Friedlander. She is a winner of “Hildegard Zadek Scholarship” (Hilde Zadek, Austrian Kammer Sängerin) Foundation in Germany. Also, she was chosen from the International American Regiseur, Ellen Stewart of LaMaMa Theatre etc…in New-York, to perform the leading roles in the operatic theatre pieces of Il Corvo, Diana and Aesclepius which have been performed in “La Biennale di Venecia”, in Italy, in Albania and Kosovo. In 2015 her first CD-Project with arranged folk Albanian songs from Albania and Kosovo with the ensemble “Dielli” (Vienna Philharmonic musicians) was released by Gramola company in Vienna. During May and June 2016 she performed the role of Olga in “Eugene Onegin” – Tchaikovsky in Alden Biesen Summerfestival in Belgium in cooporation with Koblenz Theater in Germany. In June 2017 she gave her debut as Carmen (Kinderoper) in Magdeburg Opera House in Deutschland. In October 2017 she will be performing the Third Wood Sprite in Dvorak's opera Rusalka, at Magdeburg opera house. 2018 she will be singing the role of Carmen in the production of Carmen Opera in Obersaxen Summer festival in Switzerland.
