The mezzo-soprano Felicitas Brunke studied with Prof. Marga Schiml and Prof. Friedemann Röhlig and graduated in BA/MA Opera at the University of Music Karlsruhe. In addition, she completed her Master studies in Lied with Prof. Mitsuko Shirai and Prof. Hartmut Höll and graduated with honour. She received further influences in her Liedstudies through the work and concert activity with the pianist Markus Hadulla.Master classes with Hilde Zadek, Brigitte Fassbaender, Julia Varady, Marlis Petersen, Udo Reinemann, Lioba Braun, Daniel Fueter and Ileana Cotrubas completed her studies. Currently she is working with Prof. Charlotte Lehmann. As a child, she gained first stage experiences at the children's chorus of the Stuttgart State Opera. It was followed by small solos as „the shepherd“ in G. Puccini's Tosca and a bridesmaid in „Der Freischütz“ by C. M. von Weber.During her studies Ms Brunke appeared in numerous opera productions at the Concert House Karlsruhe - here she was given the opportunity to work with the conductors Stefan Asbury and Mario Venzago and sang roles such as Meg Page in G.Verdi's "Falstaff", Ruggiero from "Alcina" by G.F. Händel and Hipolyta from Benjamin Britten's „ A Midsummernight’s Dream.“In 2011/12 she received her first engagement as a guest performer (Queen Archaea) at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe in the course of the Handel Festival Karlsruhe for the children's production of "Dino und die Arche“ by Thomas Leininger. It was followed by appearances at the Mannheimer Mozart Summer, Schwetzinger Festival and the Würzburger Mozart Summer. As a soloist, she also performed with the Rastatter Vocalensemble, directed by Prof. Holger Speck. In 2014 Felicitas Brunke joined the children's opera "Die kleine Manon" in the role of the dancing master/ Mme Geronte, leaning on fragments of Giacomo Puccinis „Manon Lescaut“ at the Festspielhaus Baden Baden with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Duncan Ward. In May 2014 she also sang this role in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie. In 2015 Felicitas Brunke performed the role of "zweite adelige Waise“ at the Easter Festival of the Festspielhaus Baden Baden in „Der Rosenkavalier“ by Richard Strauss, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Here, she also was given the opportunity of working under the stage direction of Brigitte Fassbaender. Furthermore, Ms. Brunke was invited to the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe again as a guest performer and sang the role of the mother/tsippie in the children's opera "Where the wild things live" by Oliver Knussen. 2017 she performs the role at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Dusseldorf. In 2015, Felicitas Brunke made her debut at the Swiss Operetta stage of Hombrechtikon embodying the title role of the operetta "Prinz Methusalem” by Johann Strauss, followed by "Prince Orlowsky" at the "kleine Oper am See" 2017. Furthermore, she will make her Debut at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg and perform the Mezzo- Part of the new Opera Production "Tucholskys Spiegel" by James Reynolds.

In addition to Opera, Lied and Oratorio also reflect Ms. Brunke's strengths as a performer. She has given numerous Lied recitals with the pianists Markus Hadulla, Hsu-Chen Su and her duo partner Freya Jung. As a well known Alto soloist of sacred music she has appeared in Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden, Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Schwäbisch Gmünd. In addition to numerous Bach cantatas she has delivered brilliant performances in works of early music such as the „Marienvesper“ by Monteverdi and the „Dixit Dominus“ by Handel. During the "Bachwoche Stuttgart 2016" she performed the "H-Moll Messe" by J.S. Bach with Hans- Christoph Rademann.

She has received scholarships from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, the circle of friends of University of Music Karlsruhe and the Richard Wagner Association Pforzheim. In 2010 she was awarded a prize at the competition of the University of Music Karlsruhe. 2016 Felicitas Brunke was finalist of the "Othmar Schoeck- Lied- Competition" in Brunnen CH. 2017 she won the singing competition of "Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg".
