Bio


Peruvian tenor and pianist Enrique Bernardo is following a very exciting and uncommon path. He is part of Theater Muenster in Germany as a Tenor. Since starting to work in Germany, Mr. Bernardo has sang the "Zweite Priester" and "Erste Gerharnischter Mann" (Zauberflöte), the 4th Jew (Salome). Most recently he sang Faust as the main title role since the lead tenor got ill during an orchestra rehearsal. He has also performed Jim Mahoney during rehearsals of "Rise and Fall of the city Mahagonney" by Kurt Weill. He is also a sought after Oratorio singer. Recently he has performed the Tenor solos in Christmas Oratorio from Saint Saens, the Tenor solo in Schubert Mass in G major, Tenor solo in Cherubini Requiem in C minor.                                    In USA he has performed the roles of Tito/ La Clemenza di Tito, Cavarodossi/ Tosca, Luiggi/Il Tabarro, Alfredo and Gastone/Traviata, Nemorino/Elixir of Love, Count Almaviva/Barber of Seville, Briguella and Tanzmeister/Ariadne auf Naxos, Don Ottavio/Don Giovanni, Don Basilio, Don Curzio/Marriage of Figaro, Hussar/Mavra. In the USA Enrique Bernardo has performed with Opera Western Reserve, Cleveland Inst. Of Music Opera Theatre and Undercroft Opera, Erie Opera Theatre, Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Opera.   Mr. Bernardo won first prizes in piano competitions such as the Steinway Concert Society of Western Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Concert Society, the Third Prize (special award) at the Varna International Piano Festival and Competition in Bulgaria, the Southeastern Community College Piano Competition, the SCMTNA Piano Competition, and the American Federation of Musicians for Charleston, South Carolina.
