Hailed for her "super human high notes” (Jeffrey Means, conductor), international Soprano Emily Thorner is an active performer in both Germany and the United States. Equally at home in opera and new music,  Ms. Thorner will soon be singing a role named after her for the new opera, Exposedby Daniel Felsenfeld. Recent performances include the U.S. premiere of Wolfgang Rihm's "Frage," a piece known for it's F6-A6, a six concert tour with ensemble Canto Armonico in Germany, Cunégonde in Candidewith Manchester Choral Society, Eurydice in Orphée aux enfers, Lucia in The Rape of Lucretia, Rose Maybud in Ruddigore, Phyllis in Iolanthe, Flora in The Turn of the Screw, Silverpeal in The Impresario, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, Zdenka in Arabella, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, appearances with the Grammy award winning Hans Zimmer International Tour, Hub New Music, Boston Musica Viva, Sound Energy at The New Music Gathering, as well as playing Antonina in Mary Bichner’s The Memoirs of Antonina, with an aria written around her coloratura voice. Ms. Thorner has been on the radio in Germany twice sicne 2018, including Dresden radio, where she was a featured soloist advertising for the Jubiläumsfeier des Goethe-Instituts Konzert. In 2019-2020, she will make appearances in Boston, New York, Ohio, Seattle, Austria, and Germany. recording choir Vox Futura, the Grammy award winning Hans Zimmer International Tour, New Hampshire Music Festival, Hub New Music, Boston Musica Viva, Sound Energy at The New Music Gathering, as well as playing Antonina in Mary Bichner’s The Memoirs of Antonina, with an aria written around her coloratura voice.
