Bio


Born in Athens, she received her Biology Diploma from the &ldquoAristoteles University" in Thessaloniki before starting her musical studies. She graduated with honours (Magistra artium) in January 2007 from the “University of Music & Performing Arts“ in Vienna, where she studied with Prof. Ralf Döring (Singing) and Prof. KS Marjana Lipovšek (Lied & Oratorio).


She was awarded scholarships from the Richard Wagner Stipendienstiftung, the Janacek-Sobotka Foundation and the “Universität für Musik & Darstellende Kunst Wien“.

In the 2007-08 season, she was a member of the “International Opera Studio at the Opernhaus Zurich”, where she performed in Mozart’s „Cosi fan tutte“, Cavalli’s „La Didone“, Britten´s „The Beggar´s Opera“, Schumann’s „Szenen aus Goethes Faust“, Puccini´s "Gianni Schicchi" and productions such as "Opera Viva" for children (Die Fledermaus, Boris Godunow). She attended masterclasses with Francisco Araiza, Roberto Coviello, Raul Gimenez and Mariella Devia. Ms.Giannoulidou won first prizes in the “Concorso Internazionale per Cantanti Lirici Rolando Nicolosi” (2005), the “C.A.Seghizzi International Competition” (2006), third prize in the “Concorso Cappuccilli-Patane-Respighi” (2007) and also the BelCanto Prize 2007.During the 2008 Rossini Festival Bad Wildbad in Germany she sang Isabella in “L´Italiana in Algeri” on stage and recorded the role of Zulma of the same opera under the baton of conductor Alberto Zedda (Naxos). At the same festival she also sang Lucia in “Gazza ladra” (2009, Conductor: Ryuchiro Sonoda) and Zaida in “Il Turco in Italia” (2011, Conductor: Antonino Fogliani).

Since the 2008-09 season she has been engaged in the ensemble of the “Landestheater Linz” (Austria) where among other roles she sang Flora (La Traviata), Irene (Hello Dolly), Adelaide (Der Vogelhändler), Diana/ Giove in Diana (La Calisto), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Nicklausse/ Muse (Les contes d´Hoffmann), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Nancy (Albert Herring), The Drummer (Der Kaiser von Atlantis), Mallika (Lakmé), Angelina (La Cenerentola). In 2014 she sang Ernestina (L’occasione fa il ladro), Suzuki (M.Butterfly) in France and Lisinga (C.W.Gluck, Le Cinesi) in Austria.

During 2015 she sang Dorabella in “Cosi fan tutte” in France (Opéra de Baugé) and Xenia in the opera “Chodorkowski” (SireneOperntheater Wien). In 2016 she sang among other roles Nancy in "Albert Herring" in France.

As a concert singer she gave song recitals, took part in chamber music concerts in Austria (Musikverein Vienna, Stephansdom, Landesgalerie Linz, Brucknerhaus), Greece, Germany, Italy, Serbia and worked with such ensembles as Belgrader Philharmoniker, Bruckner Orchester, Die Reihe, Virtuosi Brunensis, Orpheus Kammerorchester Wien, Capella Istropolitana et.al.Ms.Giannoulidou speaks fluently English, German, Italian, Greek and understands good French. She is a member of EVTA Austria.
