The mezzosoprano Elisabeth Stützer was born in Oberndorf/ Austria, close to the
German border and is a German and Austrian citizen.
From an early age on she studied piano at the University Mozarteum Salzburg/ Austria with pianist Anton Cziczek.
She started out as a back-up singer for Bobby McFerrin and the Dave Brubeck Band at the Salzburg Jazz Festival, which led to performances in Verona, Vienna and Prague.
In autumn 2016 she finished her vocal studies with the German singer Ute Trekel - Burckhardt and Michaela Kaune at the University of Arts in Berlin.
During her studies she took part in masterclasses of known artists such as Eric Schneider, Jonathan Alder, Konrad Jarnot, Grace Bumbry, Felicia Weathers, Thomas Quasthoff and Johan Botha. She is a student-fellow of the Mady Keller-Buddenberg foundation and the Richard Wagner Stipendienstiftung and performed the role of Endimione in Francesco Cavallis "La Calisto“, Georg Friedrich Händels Giulio Cesare, the Third Dame in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts „The Magic flute“ and Prinz Orlofsky in Johann Strauss operetta „Die Fledermaus“ at the UniT Theater Berlin.
As a sought after Contralto for oratorio and concert, she performed Johann Sebastian Bachs „Johannespassion“ and Georg Friedrich Händels „Messiah“ with the Prometheus Ensemble Berlin conducted by Frank Markowitsch, Gioachino Rossinis „La petite messe solennelle“ as well as Johann Sebastian Bachs „Matthäuspassion“ with the Lucas- Kantorei Ensemble Berlin conducted by Thorsten Hansen. 2014 she was an artist at the Classic Open Air Festival Berlin.
2015 she sang Mendelssohn- Bartholdys „Paulus“ with the Leipziger Oratorio choir conducted by Gunther Berger, 2016 Johannes H. E. Kochs „Lobgesang der Maria“ written for organ, viola and contralto as well as Johann Sebastian Bachs „Magnificat“ with the Ölberg- Ensemble Berlin conducted by Ingo Schulz .

Elisabeth Stützer is a passionate interpreter of song- recitals, specialising in the German
Lied - genre. Her duo-partner is sought after Lied-pianist and conductor of the new generation, Sergey Neller.
2012 she made her debut with her Schubert song - recital „ Die Sommerreise“ in Salzburg for the Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg and the European Society Club. 2013 she was invited to take part at the European Song- Forum in Vilna / Lithuania.
At her song recital 2016 at the Gmunden festival/ Austria she showed her socially critical music- video „Der Leiermann“ (2015).
2017 she will perform at the SalzART festval in Austria and Gustav Mahlers „Rückert Lieder“ at Nymphenburg castle in Munich/ Germany with the Prinzregenten- Ensemble conducted by Armando Merino. Elisabeth Stützer currently works with the English conductor Alexander Walker at her recently launched „The ALMA project“.
In 2017 Elisabeth Stützer will be heard singing opera and concerts in Leipzig, Berlin, Hamburg, München, Wien, Bad Reichenhall, Oberndorf, Gmunden, London und Oradea.
