Dionisos Tsantinis was born in Athens, Greece. Coming from a musical family, he is considered to be one of the most talented singers of his generation.In 2007, he won the first prize in the „Schloss Rheinsberg“ Competition in Germany and in 2011  the best male voice prize in the „Alfredo Giacomotti“ competition in Italy. He began his vocal studies with Denis Troussas in the Athenaeum Conservatory in Athens. Receiving full scholarship both from the “Greek State Scholarship Foundation” and the “Alexander Onassis“Foundation he was able to further his studies at the University of Arts in Berlin with Robert Gambill and Gabrielle Schnaut. Under the guidance of Renata Scotto he completed a two year masterclass in the Academia di Santa Cecilia, Rome, focusing on the italian opera. From early on he was able to gain stage experience. In 2000, aged only 20, he made his successful debut as Papageno in the Greek National Opera, Athens. Since then he participated in a number of productions all over Europe, that attest to his versatility and to the unique ethos he brings to each character he impersonates: Salome, Elektra, and Viva la mamma at the Berlin State Opera,Das Spiel at the Komische Oper Berlin, Don Giovanni of Gazzaniga and Le nozze di Figaro also in Berlin, La pietra del paragone in Munich, Oedipus Rex  in Dresden, The telephone (Menotti) in Lübeck, Die Frau ohne Schatten at the Vlaamse Oper in Belgium, Dardanus by Rameau in Limerick (Ireland) and in Liverpool, A view from the bridge at the Opera of Rome, L'elisir d’amore, L’inganno felice, Faust and Un ballo in maschera at the Greek National Opera. Among his most recent performances, Oedipus Rex in Liege, L’heure espagnole and Gianni Shicchi at the Academia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and I Vespri Siciliani in Athens Megaron stand out. The current season marked Dionisos‘ debut as Don Giovanni in Mozart’s masterpiece, as Escamillo in Carmen in the Greek National Opera and as Agamemnon in Offenbach's "La belle Helene". He also appeared  in The Barber of Seville as Don Basilio and in Rigoletto as Marullo in Athens. Meanwhile the production of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, with Dionisos as Count Rochefort, from Rieti (Italy) and  Valencia (Spain) with the Europa Galante Orchestra under Fabio Biondi, went worldwide on DVD
