DIEGO GARCÍA RODRÍGUEZ, conductorIn the operatic field he makes his début as musical director at the Teatro Real (Madrid) on January 2015 with "Hänsel und Gretel" by H. Humperdick. He has been musical director at the 2015 season of the company Opus Lírica from San Sebastián performing "Il barbiere di Siviglia" and "Rigoletto", "Carmen" at the Opera Baltycka, Gdansk (Poland), "Die Dreigroschenoper" (Spanish tour- 38 performances) for CDG and the world premieres of "It Makes No Difference..." chamber opera by composer Simone Spagnolo in the festival "Tête à Tête" at the Riverside Studios in London and "Die Träumenden Knaben”, melodrame by Torsten Rasch.Latest symphonic engagements includes Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Orquesta de Extremadura, Orquesta Sinfónica de Málaga, Orquesta del Principado de Asturias, Orquesta sinfónica de Castilla y León, Academic Orchestra and Choir Bydgoszcz and Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia's Young Orchestra. As an opera assistant conductor he had collaborated at the Teatro Real (Madrid) with Nicola Luisotti in "Rigoletto" (2015), Paul Daniel in “Król Roger” (2011) and Josep Pons in “The turn of the Screw” (2010) and at Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona with Josep Pons in "Don Giovanni". Other assistances includes the Théatre de Caen, France (Nicolas Chalvin, conductor/ “La Traviata” 2012 ), Opera de Nantes-Angers, France (Nicolas Chalvin, conductor/ "The Nose” 2005), Opera de Lausanne (Nicolas Chalvin, conductor/ “Carmen” 2005 ), Dartington Great Hall, UK (Diego Masson, conductor/ "Le nozze di Figaro” 2010 and "Madama Butterfly" 2009).The ensemble "London Sinfonietta" selected him to make part of its first young conductors program at the "London Sinfonietta Academy 2010”.Diego is the Artistic and musical director of the Taller Atlántico Contemporáneo (TAC), tac.gl ensemble that is intensely involved in the diffusion of contemporary music and its relationship to other artistic disciplines. In 2014 the TAC performed in Auditorio Nacional in Madrid and prestigious spanish music festivals such as the 53rd Semana de música religiosa de Cuenca, Festival Internacional de música y danza de Granada, premiering works by Klaus Lang and Sebastián Mariné. The TAC was awarded with the "Premios da crítica Galicia" 2013.
