Pianist Darya Tchaikovsky made her debut as a young soloist at age 12 with the Minsk Chamber orchestra, performing Bach’s concerto in d-minor. In the following years, she performed Mozart’s Concerto No.24, Liszt’s Concerto No.1 and Beethoven’s Concerto No.3 with the Minsk Philharmonic Orchestra as a part of the prestigious Young Artists concert series at the State Philharmonic Hall in Minsk. 
During her school years, in both 2003 and 2004 Darya won the 1st prize and the Interpretation of the romantic piece prize in the Ella Alterman Festival in Minsk. She also won prizes in international competitions as a chamber musician. Since then Darya has given many high-profile recitals in France, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, performing works of Chopin, Schumann, Liszt, Ravel, and many Russian composers, such as Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Scriabin and Stravinsky. 
In recent years she has pursued her interest in Scandinavian music resulting in solo recitals focusing on the bonds between Slavic and Scandinavian culture. Her artistic boundaries also comprises contemporary music. She has collaborated with a number of composers presenting new works both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. 
Born in Minsk, Republic of Belarus, Darya began playing at the age of 4 and gave her first full recital at the age of 7, performing Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata among other piano works. Early discovered by renowned professors from Minsk and Moscow, she entered the National College of Music in her hometown at the age of 10. At the age of 17 she moved to France to pursue her studies at Conservatoire National de Angers and later at Conservatoire National Superieure de Lyon were she studied with Hervé N’Kaoua and Thierry Rosbach. In the summer of 2016 she was chosen to participate in the Edwin Fischer Summer Academy with Paul Lewis in Potsdam, Germany and in the Chigiana International Summer Academy in Siena, Italy, with Lilya Zilberstein. In 2017 she joined Pablo Casals Festival Academy under the mentorship of Silke Avenhaus in Prades, France, and Jiri Hlinka Academy in Bergen, Norway, with Leif Ove Andsnes and Christian Ihle Hadland. In the summer 2018 Darya will join the accompaniment team for the Pablo Casals Festival.    
After finishing her studies in 2015, Darya currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden.
