Praised for his "Warm voice, full, and gifted with an unmistakably elegant singingproduction...” (L’Opinione, Vicenza, Italy), Spanish-American baritone Daniel Luis de Vicenteholds B.M. and M.M. degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of South Florida. Aftergraduating he moved to Italy where he has been singing professionally since 2008. In Venice hehas performed works by Monteverdi, Mozart, and Handel, and toured with La Fenice and theMaggio Musicale Fiorentino chorus for Wagner’s Ring Cycle conducted by Jeffrey Tate andZubin Mehta. Daniel was part of the Lyric Academy “Santa Croce” of Trieste, Italy, where heperformed various roles in Puccini’s Il Trittico. In 2009 he sang the role of Un Messo in Verdi’s IlTrovatore at the Teatro Verdi of Trieste, conducted by Maurizio Barbacini. He is a collaboratorwith the Italian Lyric Association “Una voce per tutti," singing frequently with the tenorAntonello Ceron, performing in Romeo’s Castle in Verona in the festival “OperaEstate”, Bassanodel Grappa, Bolzano, Laghi, and Vicenza. In 2013 he made his debut in the Philharmonic Theater of Verona with the association “VeronaLirica” in a young artists’ concert, with the press celebrating the “[…] excellent accent andstrong expressive rendering from baritone Spanish-American Daniel de Vicente..." (L’Arena). He then sang Bartolo in Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia and Leporello inMozart’s Don Giovanni: “… young baritone, Daniel de Vicente (in the role of Leporello) showedvocal security, a beautiful timbre and overall a wonderful comic instinct and natural gestures..."(Gli amici della musica, Ferrara). In July 2013, he debuted as Monterone in Rigoletto with theOrchestra del Comunale di Ferrara conducted by M° Fabrizio Milani at the Estense Castle ofFerrara.In 2014 he won the title role of Rigoletto in the “Citta di Ferrara” opera competition, which heperformed in March, in Ferrara. In November he performed Michonnet in Adriana Lecouvrer byCilea in Padova, and Germont in La Traviata by Verdi in Vicenza. In December 2014, heinaugurated the Metropolitan Theater “Astra” of Jesolo with a gala performing works fromPuccini’s Tosca as Barone Scarpia.in 2015 Mr. de Vicente was a young artist with Opera Colorado in Denver, Colorado. Heperformed in Mozart’s Magic Flute, Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Humperdink’s Hansel andGretel, as well as premiering the role of Governor Bellingham in Lori Laitman’s The ScarletLetter.In 2016 he performed the role of Capellio in Bellini's I Capuleti ed i Montecchi under the baton of M. Andrea Albertin with Teatro Verdi Padova and OperaEstate Bassano, as well as returning to Rigoletto with Teatro Barbarigo in the same city. In 2017, he performed a concert version of Iago in Verdi's Otello in a tournee in northern Italy. He currently resides in Germany.
