The young Australian conductor Daniel Linton-France has been a member of the conducting staff at the “Landestheater, Linz”, Austria since 2009. Here he has conducted works such as “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg”, “The Valkyries”, “La Bohème”, “Madama Butterfly”,”Tosca”, “The cunning little vixen”, “Lakmé”, “The Tales of Hoffmann”,”Carmen”, “The Magic Flute”, “Cosi fan tutte”, “Don Pasquale”, “Maria Stuarda”, “The Kaiser von Atlantis”, “The Merry Widow”, “The Gypsy Princess”, William Bolcoms “McTeague” and various others.In the coming season (2016/17) he will be conducting the Austrian premiere of “Solaris” by Michael Obst, directed by Hermann Schneider, “The little Mermaid”- dance theatre by Mei Hong Lin with music by Zemlinsky and Schreker, “The White Horse Inn” by Ralph Bernatzky, “Don Giovanni” by W.A. Mozart and “Leonce und Lena” by Erich Zeisl.Previous engagements led him to the “Nordharzer Städtebundtheater”(2004-2008) and the “Staatstheater Braunschweig”(2008-2009).As a performing artist and assistant he has worked at various festivals including the “Bayreuth Festival” (“Der Ring des Nibelungen” Conductor: Krill Petrenko in 2015)“Salzburg Festival” ( “Die Entführung aus dem Serail”. Conductor: Hans Graf 2013), the “Tyrol Festival, Erl”, “Carinthian Summer” in Austria, “Festival Cultural de Mayo” in Mexico,”Festival Snow and Symphony” in Switzerland and at various opera houses such as the “Teatro San Carlo” Naples, “Teatro Verdi” in Florence and “Teatro Verdi” in Trieste.Orchestras with which he has worked include the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Lucern Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Tyrolean Festival, the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, the Orchestra of the Nordharzer Städtebundtheaters and the Ensemble Risognanze.He completed his studies at the Music University“ Mozarteum“ in Salzburg, studying conducting with Dennis Russel Davies and Jörg Rotter and piano performance with Christoph Lieske and Karl Heinz Kämmerling. He gained further impulses from Hartmut Höll and Alexander Lonquich as a pianist and Salvador Mas Conde and Gustav Kuhn as a conductor. He is founder and artistic director of the concert series “Living Room Artists” in the “New Music Theatre, Linz”,a series dedicated to bringing composers, writers, creators, interpreters and audiences closer together.In 2010 he was invited as a guest lecturer for orchestra conducting and coaching to the Newcastle Conservatorium (Australia).He also works regularly as a conductor with the student orchestra of the Bruckner University, Linz.
