CYNTHIA EDWARDS has staged new productions of Il Trovatore for Florida Grand Opera, Tosca for OperaDelaware, Carmen for Baltimore Opera, Carmen, Eugene Onegin and Macbeth for Anchorage Opera, and six productions for Harrisburg Opera: La Traviata, Faust, Le Nozze di Figaro, Cosi fan tutte, The Abduction from the Seraglio and Pagliacci.  Concert stagings include Andre Gretry’s Zemire et Azor and Richard Coeur-de-Lion for the New York-based American Classical Orchestra and Pergolesi’s La Serva Padrona, starring baritone Sanford Sylvan, with the Carmel Bach Festival. At New York City Opera, Ms. Edwards has mounted revivals of Frank Corsaro's Tosca, Die Tote Stadt and Ravel double bill, Tito Capobianco's Mefistofele and Rigoletto, Jonathan Eaton's production of Carmen, and Theodore Pappas' Merry Widow and has traveled with the company to Saratoga, Costa Mesa, Wolf Trap and Artpark, also serving as Assistant Director and liaison for the "Live from Lincoln Center" telecast of Eaton's Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci.  In recent seasons, she assisted Christopher Alden on the company’s celebrated productions of Cosi fan tutte and Don Giovanni as well as Rebecca Taichman on Telemann’s Orpheus and Michael Counts on Rossini’s Moses in Egypt.   Ms. Edwards will be directing a concert performance of Handel's Alceste at Alice Tully Hall on March 19, 2014, for the American Classical Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Crawford with choreography by John Heginbotham.
