Bio


Colin comes from Lewes in East Sussex. His career encompasses performing, teaching, writing and directing.

Colin is known principally as a character baritone, having performed roles such as Geronimo (Il Matrimonio Segreto), Don Alfonso (Cosi fan butte), Eight Songs for a Mad King (Peter Maxwell Davis), Bartolo (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas), Uberto (La Serva Padrona), Sempronio (Lo Speziale) and many more. Companies have included Opera Restor'd, Country Opera, Handmade Opera, Opera Interludes, The London Savoyards, The New Savoyards and Garsington Opera.

Colin teaches principally in London and in Rome but has also taught on summer schools and other courses in Pisa, France, Scotland and the USA. He is a guest director for Utah State University's opera programme. 

Colin has published several books on vocal technique, notably for the RSCM's Voice for Life scheme, and The Student Voice (Dunedin Academic Press. 2010).
