Bio


Clovis Michon was born in 1987 in Lyon.He did get his first music lesson at the age of 4, and started playing the cello aged 8, giving his first concerts a couple of months later.He visited the conservatories of Lyon and Villeurbanne, and finally in Dijon where he graduated in 2010 in the class of Quatuor Manfred&lsquos Cellist Christian Wolff.Since 2012 he has been perfectionning  with Alexander Baillie, preparing a Master Degree in performance at the University of Arts in Bremen. He took part in numerous masterclasses and competitions, getting advice from cellists such as Iagoba Fanlo, Errki Lahesmaa or Lluis Claret.With his strong technique and his musical freedom and spontaneity, Clovis is in line of the great  « école française du violoncelle » of André Navarra.A very demanded chamber musician, he has played piano trio, string quartet and other various chamber music formations in numerous concerts these last years.He regularly gives recitals with his sonata partner, the south corean pianist Ira KIM and concerts have brought him to various contries around the world, including France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria and China.He is since 2012 the Cellist and founding member of the german Bremen String Quartet.
