Bio

German soprano Claudia Roick studied singing at HMT Rostock, Germany and JAMD Jerusalem, Israel. Her teachers include Prof. Christiane Bach-Roehr (HMT Rostock/Hfm Dresden), Prof. Mira Zakai (TAU Tel Aviv) and Anat Efraty (JAMD Jerusalem). Furthermore she had the privilege to work with Abby Fuhrmansky, Graciela Araya, Janet Williams, Karola Theill, Thomas Mooser,Reri Grist, Norman Shetler and others. She sang with Filmorchester Babelsberg, Norddeutsche Philharmonie (Rostock, Germany), Kammerphilharmonie Poznan (Poland), Preußisches Kammerorchester Prenzlau (Poland/Germany) and many others. Concerts brought her to Los Angeles, San Diego, Shanghai, Sao Paulo, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and others. She performed at important festivals such as Classic Open Air Berlin ("First Night" 2015) and "Festspiele Mecklenburg -Vorpommern" (2009, 2012 and 2014). In 2012 the soprano sang Despina and Zerlina at Jerusalem Opera, Israel and Else in "Eine kluge Else" as well as Titania in “A midsummer night’s dream”, both being productions of Kabinettoper, Germany. In 2013 Claudia performed Mrs. Peachum and Mdm. Trapes in “The beggar’s opera” from Chr. Pepusch at opera festival "Opernale". In 2014 she was Belinda in Purcells "Dido & Aeneas" at HMT Rostock. In 2015 the soprano returned to Opernale and toured with them throughout Germany to perform a best of show. In 2016 she sang Armida from Händels Rinaldo at Neukoellner Oper Berlin, Miss Jessel in Brittens "The turn of the screw" at IVAI Tel Aviv, Israel and Pamina at opera festival "Opernale" in its 2016 production of "Magic Flute". She currently sings Clorinda in Rossinis Cenerentola as well as Pamina and 2. Dame at Kammeroper Köln. Claudia has been awarded 2nd prize (1st prize wasn't awarded) and Izzy Fuhrmann prize at the international competition "Ostracized Music" in Germany. In 2012 she received the 2nd prize at the Jerusalem music and dance competition "Singing with orchestra". In 2013 she was a finalist of the international Giulio Perotti singing competition. In 2015 the soprano won 3rd prize at Paula Salomon Lindberg Competition "Das Lied" Berlin.
