Bio

Christian H&oslashrbov-Meier is educated first as a performance violinist with an orchestra diploma from the conservatory in Århus, Denmark and after several years working as a conductor of community orchestras in Denmark, Christian traveled to the US to study conducting with professor Jan Wagner at Shenandoah University, Winchester, VA. The result was a Master of Music in Conducting followed by a post graduate Artist Diploma in Conducting finished in 2009 with a comulative GPA of 4.0. During the last years of his studies in the US, Christian Hørbov-Meier won the position as conductor of FAUST - Funen Youth Symphony Orchestra (age 15-25) and traveled to Denmark once a month to work with the orchestra. After his return to Denmark, Christian has besides FAUST worked with other Youth Orchestras, Community Orchestras, Project Orchestras and as stand in for conductors David Riddle and Frans Rasmussen. Latest with a complete projekt with Skive Symphony Orchestra and Skive Opera Academy for their yearly Opera Galla. To further develop his skills, Christian Hørbov-Meier, has participated in many masterclasses and workshops including Pierre Monteux School, USA - 4th international Music Festival "Little Paris" in Bucharest, Romania - Jorma Panula masterclass with South Jutland Symphony Orchestra, Denmark - 5th International Conducting Masterclass with Alexander Polishchuk and Mark Stringer, St. Petersburg, Russia - 6th International Conductors Academy with Jonathan Brett and Radom Chamber Orchestra - Danish Conductors Association workshop with Tamas Vetö and Frans Rasmussen, Leipaja, Latvia.
