Bio


Mezzo soprano Chantelle Grant is quickly distinguishing herself as an artist to watch. Chantelle was one of the alumni of the Prelude to Performance programme featured in the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors.



In February of 2016, Chantelle performed in Mannes alumna Frederica Von Stade’s performance of Ricky Gordon’s A Coffin in Egypt on the American Song Book series at Lincoln Center.



A former Mannes Opera young artist, Chantelle has had the pleasure of working with outstanding maestri such as Joseph Colaneri, Steven White, Timothy Myers and Peter Oundjian. Ms. Grant’s roles have included Mistress Quickly inVerdi’s Falstaff, Mme Larina in Tchikovski’s Eugene Onegin, Moyra in Vaughn-William’s Riders To The Sea and Mrs Grose in Britten’s Turn of the Screw.



In 2014 Ms. Grant was thrilled to have been chosen by the Wagner Society of Washington DC for the inaugural year of the American Wagner Project, a joint venture with the Institute for Dramatic Voices, where she studied with Dolora Zajick and Luana DeVol. Fall of 2014 saw Ms. Grant make her Taconic Opera debut in the role of Mistress Quickly.



Currently a student of Arthur Levy, Ms. Grant has had the honour of studying with operatic legends, Martina Arroyo, Regina Resnik, and Jane Eaglen.
