Cathrin Lange was born in Aachen/Germany and studied singing at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany. Her teachers were Prof. Soto Papulkas and Jagna Sokorska-Kwika.Currently she is working with Tobias Meisberger.She did several master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Norman Shetler, Julie Kaufmann, Klesie Kelly and Ingrid Kremling.Since 2009, Cathrin Lange has been a member of the ensemble at Theater Augsburg. There she could be seen, among other productions, in the following parts: Gilda ( Rigoletto), Olympia ( Hoffmanns tales), Adina ( L'Elisir d'Amore), Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande), Musetta (La Bohème), Gretel ( Hänsel and Gretel), Sandrina (La finta giardiniera), Susanna ( Le nozze di Figaro), Zerlina ( Don Giovanni), Adele ( The Bat) and Eliza Doolittle ( My Fair Lady). In the season 2016/17 she sings Ilia ( Idomeneo) in Augsburg . Engagements as a guest singer took her to Aalto Theater Essen, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Staatstheater Saarbrücken, Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Oper Graz and Salzburger Landestheater. 2017 she sings Miss Schlesen (Satyagraha) from Philip Glass at Theater Basel and at Komische Oper Berlin.In addition to her theatrical activity, she also devotes herself to concert and oratorio singing. Thus she sang, among other things, A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms, Lobgesang by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Kaddish by Leonard Bernstein, St Matthew Passion by J.S.Bach, Requiem and Coronation Mass by W.A.Mozart, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff and the Mass of the Children by John Rutter.In 2014, she was awarded the Bavarian Artistic Promotional Prize 2014 in the category "Performing Arts". In 2012 she received the Augsburg Theater Prize in the "Music Theater" category.
