Catharine Woodward (née Rogers)'s career has been hugely varied, from standard repertoire (Donna Elvira; Fiordiligi; Mimì; Alice Ford) through the obscure (title role: Iernin by George Lloyd, Beatrice, Our Man In Havana by Malcolm Williamson), the neglected classics (Arabella; Blanche (Les Dialogues des Carmélites) to contemporary works (Edna, Tobias & The Angel (Dove); Sarah, Clemency (MacMillan)). She studied voice at Trinity Laban, opera at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland & on ENO's Opera Works. In 2017 she was a quarterfinalist in the the Lauritz Melchior Competition in Aalborg, Denmark. She recently covered the role of Aksinya in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District at the Royal Opera, London, and in November 2018 will perform the role of Elisabeth de Valois in Don Carlo (5 Acts, Italian) with Fulham Opera in London. She currently studies privately with Pamela Kuhn.
