Bijan Sheibani is an award winning theatre and opera director. His production of NOTHING for Glyndebourne was nominated for Best Opera at the 2017 Southbank Sky Arts Awards as well as garnering many 5 star reviews.

He recently directed TELL ME THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE for Streetwise Opera and the Royal Northern Symphonia at Sage Gateshead in April 2018.

He has directed new operas for the Royal Opera House, including THE VIRTUES OF THINGS by Matt Rogers and THROUGH HIS TEETH by Luke Bedford. He also directed TARANTULA IN PETROL BLUE, a new opera for Aldeburgh.

He has directed many new plays for the National Theatre, the Young Vic, Royal Court, Donmar, Almeida, Hampstead, and Soho Theatres. His most recent productions in theatre include THE BROTHERS SIZE by Tarell Alvin McCraney and BARBER SHOP CHRONICLES by Inua Ellams.
