Bio

Andrii Ganchuk is a baritone from the Ukraine who is in the second year of his Masters in Opera Performance at RWCMD. In June 2016, he made his operatic debut for the College as Ford in Verdi's Falstaff, under the baton of Maestro Carlo Rizzi and, in August, he sang the role Escamillo in Berlin Opera Academy's production of Bizet's masterpiece, Carmen. Andrii studies with Donald Maxwell, Michael Pollock and Eric Roberts and is generously supported by the Leverhulme Trust and the Friends Connect Fund. He is a recipient of the Philippa and David Seligman Award for Excellence and Eileen Price McWilliam Award in memory of her sons, Alastair and David. Although Andrii has a PhD in Economics and an MBA, eventually his passion for singing convinced him to become an opera singer.
