Bio

Australian Soprano Amy Corkery is establishing a reputation in Europe as an exciting young operatic artist.

In 2013, after graduating with Honours from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Amy relocated to Europe to follow her passion for opera.

Amy was immediately offered a place in the Accademia di Belcanto in Puglia (Italy) where she understudied the title role of ‘Giovanna’ in Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco in the ‘Festival della Valle d’Itria’.

In 2014, Amy was a prizewinner in the International Tagliavini Singing Competition in Austria, where she was then invited to perform with the Graz Symphony Orchestra at the Graz Opera House. She was also a finalist in the International singing competition in Tenerife.

In 2015, Amy represented the Accademia di Belcanto (Italy) in the project - “Emerging Classical Talent in the EU”. She performed a world premiere composition as part of a European Tour in Sweden, Wales, Italy and Estonia.
In 2016 Amy was invited to perform a world premiere cantata composed by the internationally renowned composer Iain Bell in London’s Spitalfields Festival.
She was also invited to take part in the Desanzano Opera Festival where she performed the role of ‘Fiordiligi’, and later the same year she debuted the role of ‘Contessa’ from Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in Varese Ligure.

Earlier this year, Amy debuted the role of 'Donna Anna' from Mozart's Don Giovanni at Teatru Manoel in Malta, and has previously debuted ‘Fiordiligi’ in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte in Brescia, as well as ‘Violetta’ from Verdi’s La Traviata in Abruzzo (Italy).

She also performed ‘Diana’ in Amor Prigionier with the Venice Baroque Ensemble in the works first performance since it’s composition in 1732.

A career highlight for Amy was working on the title role of Handel’s Rodelinda with Maestro Richard Bonynge.
