Bio


Alyssa Brode is a Philadelphia-born, Los Angeles-based soprano whose performance experience spans both coasts. Alyssa’s 2016 season brought her role debut as Violetta in La traviata with Capitol Opera in Laguna Hills, California, where she will return in March 2017 as Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. She also debuted with Independent Opera Company in their double bill of two rarely-performed operas: Rameau’s Pigmalion and Rachmaninoff’s Aleko. In March of 2016, Alyssa returned to Pacific Opera Project to cover the role of Valencienne (“Valentine”) in their Old West-themed production of The Merry Widow. Alyssa holds voice performance degrees from Westminster Choir College (Bachelor of Music) and California State University, Northridge (Master of Music) and is a recipient of the Robert Barbera Scholarship in Voice, the Village Voices Scholarship and the Rachel Ketchie Memorial Award. She is a 2016 finalist with the American Prize in Opera and a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society.
