Alexandra Matheoudaki was born in Thessaloniki and is the grand-daughter of Vassilios Theofanous who was a composer, conductor and director of the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. She started taking piano lessons at a very early age. At the age of 16 she started taking singing lessons with Kiki Morfoniou at the Conservatory of Athens. She graduated with top grade and high distinction. After her graduation she received a scholarship and continued her music studies in London with the famous professor of singing Vera Rozsa as her teacher. She received her ΜΑ diploma from the Royal Academy. Alexandra Matheoudaki also attended master classes given by Valda Pluknett and John Modinos, and participated in seminars given by Sienna Jurinac and Elizabeth Schwartzopf in London. During her postgraduate studies she performed the roles of Donna Anna in “Don Giovanni” by Mozart, Micaela in “Carmen” of Bizet, and Tatiana in “Eugene Oniegin”. She gave a concert at the Hall of St. Martin of the Fields in London, in Oxford, Cambridge, Sweden and Germany. She started working at the National Lyric Theatre, where she had the opportunity to perform in the following operas. “The Magic flute” and the “Marriage of Figaro” by Mozart, “Henzel and Gretel” by Humperding, the “Return” of Kounadis, “Thais” by Massenet, “The house of the three Girls” by Schubert, “La Boheme” (Musetta) by Puccini, “Matrimonio Segretto” (Elizabetta) by Cimarosa (performed also in Patras and Thessaloniki), “Il Segretto di Suzanna” by Ferrari, “Barbiere di Siviglia” by Rossini (Rosina) (performed also in Volos and Kalamata). When Thessaloniki was the Cultural Capital of Europe, Alexandra Matheoudaki was invited to perform in Thessaloniki in the following operas. “Serva Padrona” by Pergolesi, which was also presented at the Theatre of Dodoni, “Don Giovanni” by Mozart(concertante), the role of Titania of “Midnight Summer Dream” by Britten (with the Chamber Opera of Thessaloniki). She often cooperated with the Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki, and she performed as a soloist in several oratories. “Gloria” by Vivaldi, “Midnight Summer Dream” by Mendelssohn. With the orchestra of the University of Athens, she performed in the opera “Dido and Aeneas” by Purcell, with the Orchestra of  Ioannina in “Stabat mater” by Pergolesi, ”Requiem” by Faure, Cantata no 15 by Bach and with the Orchestra of the City of Athens, “Requiem” (Mozart) and “Te Deum”(Charpentier). Alexandra Matheoudaki has performed in many concerts given in Athens and elsewhere in Greece, as well as in the Palace of Music of Athens “Messiah” by Handel and compositions by Mitropoulos. Also she videotaped the “Scottish songs” (Beethoven) by the National Television. Other roles were the “Medium” by Menotti, “Don Pasquale” in Cyprus, “Peter Grimes” in Athens(Elena). In Thessaloniki, she performed the roles Donna Anna and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and Rosalinde in the operetta “Fledermaus”. Recently, she gave part with the role of Santuzza of “Cavaleria Rusticana” by Mascagni in the theatre of Craiova and Bacau also(Romania). She sang later, “Trovatore” by Verdi (Leonora) and “Don Carlo” (Elizabeth de Valois). She gave concert in Praha (In Smetana Hall) with the Orchestra of Carlovi Vari and in Munich with Camerata “Da Capo” with director Franz Schottky.
