Bio


Alessandra Rossi-Filippi, Soprano, gains recognition for her vocal and theatrical versatility both on the operatic stage as well as in concert. Her repertoire ranges from music of the early baroque to opera, musical theatre and contemporary chamber music. As a featured soloist, Alessandra has had the honor of performing at the Berlin Konzerthaus in Poulenc´s Gloria and Bizet´s Te Deum with the Karl Forster-Chor and the Konzerthausorchester, Classic Open Air´s Italienische Sommernacht at Gendarmenmarkt, Berlin, The White House, The Kennedy Center, The Piccolo Spoleto Festival USA, The National Gallery of Art in DC, Knoxville Opera, and Shea Stadium, NY. She is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music in New York, and received a Master’s Degree in vocal performance from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 2011, Alessandra was seen nationally on NBC’s presentation of the “Kennedy Center Honors.” (for Meryl Streep and Barbara Cook) Operatic roles performed by Alessandra which were exquisitely received include Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail for the Metropolitan Opera Guild at Lincoln Center in New York; Olympia in Les Contes D’Hoffmann; Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor;  Thais in Thais, Die Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte; Amy March in Adamo’s Little Women; and Mabel in Orlando Ballet’s production of “The Pirates of Penzance”. 
In the Washington D.C. area, Alessandra has been a soloist with the Washington Arts Club, the  
Great Noise Ensemble, the Congressional Chorus, Interact Theatre, Washington Savoyards, Georgetown Presbyterian Church, St. Catherine of Sienna, Great Falls, VA,  Washington Choral Ensemble, the Friday Morning Music Club, the Paul Hill Chorale, the Master Chorale of Washington, and has been a guest singer/speaker on NPR (Radio). 
Oratorio highlights include Bach’s St. John’s Passion, Bach’s St. Matthew’s Passion, Saint-Saens’ Christmas Oratorio, Haydn’s Creation, and Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Messiah, Poulenc’s Gloria, and Schwantner’s Sparrows where the Knox News Sentinel hailed, “After getting past the clashing sounds of the opening, I can’t imagine anyone singing this gentle, atmospheric piece with its glistening interior spaces more gorgeously than did soprano” Alessandra Rossi-Filippi.”
