Bio


Aleksander Kunach was born in 1979 in Warsaw. In June 2006 he graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw, where he studied singing. Since October 2005 he has studied under Tom Krause in Escuela Superior de la Misica Reina Sofia in Madrid. Since 2007 he is Warsaw Chamber Opera’s soloist. He also cooperates with Baltic Opera in Gdańsk and Opera in Białystok. In 2001 he took part in the Inter-Academical Polish Song Competition, where he was awarded the Special Prize. He was the laureate of International Vocal Competition in Duszniki-Zdroj (2002). In 2005 he received an award in the Young Artists Competition held by the Polish Cultural Foundation. In August 2009 he got the III prize and the Special Prize         at the IV International Mozart Competition in Prague.
Aleksander Kunach frequently performs sacred and secular works including oratorio, cantata, opera, romantic and modern songs and various types of chamber music of varying styles.
His operatic roles include: the part of Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Seviglia, Argirio in Tancredi and Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola Tom Rakewell in Stravinsky’s The Rake’sProgress, Filippo in Haydn’s L’infedelta delusa and Ecclitico in Il mondo della luna, Eumete from Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria, and Lucano from Incoronatione di Poppea, Malcolm in Verdi’s Macbeth.
Aleksander Kunach cooperates with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, Polish National Opera in Warsaw,  and many Polish and foreign conductors, such as Agnieszka Duczmal, Jacek Kaspszyk, Ruben Silva, Władysław Kłosiewicz, Jerzy Salwarowski, Paul Goodwin, Paul McCreesh, Kai Bumann, Reiner Schmidt, Phillipe Bender, Hubert Soudant, Hansjörg Schellenberger, José Maria Florêncio, Wojciech Rodek,Charles Olivier Munroe, Friedrich Haider, Andrei Yurkevich


Gifted with beautiful, lyrical tenor, with its clear, soft and shiny timbre, Aleksander appears equally well in songs, oratorios and operatic repertoire where he can demonstrate his well developed acting skills.
