Bio


The Franco-Morrocan mezzo-soprano Ahlima Mhamdi studied at the CNSMD-Lyon with Isabelle Germain and Fabrice Boulanger. She won the First Prize Opera and the First Prize Mélodie in Marmande International Vocal Competition ; the Second Prize, Audience and “Cité de la Voix” Prizes in Macon International Singing Competition ; and she won the 2017 Cercle Wagner's Bursary. She was nominated as " the lyrical revelation of the year 2013" by the ADAMI . 

Ahlima was admitted to the New Opera Studio at the Opéra de Lyon for the 2011/12 season. Since September 2013, Ahlima has been part of the Young Soloists Ensemble of the Grand Théatre de Genève, where she has sung roles such as Fenena Nabucco,Preziosilla La Forza del destino, Maddalena Rigoletto, Meg Page Falstaff, MartineLe Medecin malgre lui, Schwertleite Die Walkure and Afra La Wally.

She sings title role of Carmen at the Alden Biesen Festival (Belgium) and at Minsk’s Boïchoï. In Spring 2016 she debuts at the Chorégies d'Orange with the role of Flora Bervoix La Traviata with Placido Domingo.



Lately, she has sung Mercedes Carmen at Théatre des Champs-Elysées, Smeton Anna Bolena at Grand Opera d'Avignon , Maddalena Rigoletto at the Grand Opera de Tours, Verdi’s Requiem at Geneva’s Victoria Hall...
